Problem
Glenn and Sue from GB Lovatt (Transport) Ltd had no easy way of keeping track of which jobs had been done by which of their drivers and any delivery issues that may have occurred. The production of the weekly invoices for all their customers was also a very time consuming manual process and they also wanted a way of tracking the important return of paperwork from completed jobs.
Proposed Solution
O'Grady Data Solutions Ltd proposed a simple to use system that would sit on the Transport Office PC and make use of a main switchboard to ease navigation and include sections on invoice production, customer and driver details storage and built in back up facilities. A reports section was also proposed to allow easy access to weekly work lists and trailer movement all of which could prove to be very useful when investigating past delivery issues.
Final System
The final system produced used the GB Lovatt (Transport) Ltd logo and colour scheme throughout. The production of weekly invoices now takes only two minutes compared to times of almost half an hour for the manual process that was in place previously. Towards the end of the development of this project Glenn and Sue also won a contract to take over the distribution of smaller individual pallet drops for which amendments were made to the system to accommodate successfully.
